Yorkshire Dales Mining Museum Old Grammar School, School Lane, Earby, Barnoldswick, Lancs BB18 6QF Map Link (opens in new window) The Yorkshire Dales Mining Museum re-opened in 2006, after amost four years of renovation and refurbishment. English Heritage the Heritage Lottery fund and Pendle District Council ably supplemented by the work of Museum Friends, local charities and members of Earby Mines Research Group, Northern Mine Research Society and local people have provided funding for the project. There are new interpretative displays using the unique and comprehensive collection of artefacts including mine wagons, machinery, tools, photographs, models, and miners' personal belongings including the effects of the mysterious "Buckden Bill". Outside the museum is the Kettlewell Providence Mine water wheel and ore crusher rescued from the scrap man in September 1971 by members of E.M.R.G. |
